This mixed model cell was developed for the assembly of pumps. The pump manufacturer needed a cell to build pumps to order and being able to ship within 1-2 days of receiving the order. To accomplish this a supermarket of parts for all pump variations was integrated into the assembly cell. This way no matter what pump needed to be built the parts were there at point of use.
